Why is it books like Harry Potter get made into movies quickly while other great books are not?
For instance, house of night, lunar chronicles, and gatekeeper series.
I haven't heard of any of those.
Not that that means anything seeing as how I'm not as into books as I used to be. It could be because the books simply aren't as popular as others, or the author does not want a movie adaptation.
Considering how the Eragon movie turned out I can certainly understand why some might not want to go the movie route...
Popularity, probably. Demand for certain genres at certain times. How adaptable a story is.
There are thousands of great books but not all of them are going to be made into movies, it's not practical.
