Scientists and poets are the same in that they search for the truth either through their hypothesises (scientists) or the truth within their emotions (poets).
Scientists and poets both use technology to record their experiences
Scientists differ to poets in that they are meant to record facts (non fiction), while poets write poems which can be placed under the category of fiction.

The medium, in writing poetry, I find a inner voice, that can transcend over all my creative processes.  Having been both, I find my Creative Writing skills, though not making me the millions I hope for, has given me a solid skill in expressing my thoughts and ideas.
