How is the flight of birds used in stories and/or quotations in your culture and/or literature?
Ah, the ability to fly. Birds, their flights in the endless, seamless sky, and their beauty entangled with the horizon... that already sounds poetic. But are there specific references in your culture or literature which uses the glory of birds? Inspirational stories or quotes maybe? In India, the beauty of peacock has been a source of inspiration for countless beautiful pieces of literature, songs, and poems. Which is the favorite bird(s) in your culture?
I use them all the time or let's say in many of my poems. I am an esoteric, ethereal or mystic poet and birds feature regularly in the life of the mystic. Birds are a symbol of the soul in freedom; they reflect the joy of the soul in flight.
Again, I use them for enhancing the artistry or music of the poem. So nightingales, cockatiels, humming birds, sparrows, etc, feature quite a lot. The phoenix is symbolic of infinity or immortality and the eagle of freedom or dauntless courage ...the swan represents poise, elegance ...rhythm. Nice question.
