Please read Joanne Hayle’s wonderful poem and thoughts on the current world situation and how the media covers it.

This is so relevant and well crafted poem.
Watching the media coverage is so stressful, to say the least. Joanne has portrayed this well.
Thank you John, for highlighting this thoughtful poem.
Joanne's poem is quite timely. I don't have a television (by choice) because I just get overwhelmed by the different "slants" the media puts on things. I prefer to do my own research. I like that Joanne is unbiased. For me, it makes her opinions more valuable. Excellent job, Joanne!
This is a very good poem that spells out how I wish the world would act, in eluding the news media. Joanne, I think the picture you painted portray the world's current situation.
Thanks foe posting this poem John.
A very interesting and well scribbled poem, Joanne. Personally, I dislike the panic media creates, as well as the numerous false stories they spread. I use to spend very little time watching the news, I mostly prefer to read news rather than watching it on TV. The poem reminded me of my mother's feelings, which she used to express frequently when her father (my maternal grandfather) died of heart failure as a result of the stress he suffered from constantly watching media coverage during the Afghan-American war. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing, John.
Blessings to both of you!
Thanks everyone, I am so glad and grateful that the poem and thoughts resonated.
Thanks John for posting this poem and Joanne's feelings about how the press distributes information about this war and other newsworthy information. It would be great if just the facts were presented without spin. As to our intake of this constant barrage of information, it is up to each individual to decide upon their tolerance level. My heart goes out to all those affected by this senseless war!
This is a very good poem by Joanne. The current world situation is horrid, and it is spelled out in this poem. I am not sure the pen is mightier than the sword ar this time, but I would hope so. I like this poem as it is so relevant to what is happening at this time, sadly enough.
Excellent poem, Joanne! You echo many of my thoughts on the press. Sensationalism and a wish to become 'the' reporter who speaks out from the crowd. Their job is to report fact, not their personal opinions. The BBC in particular has gone way down in my estimation, as some of their reporters have shown growing bias in much of their reporting lately.
It's bad enough that people are suffering and we react in different ways; that is our prerogative. It is not for them to criticise anyone. I'm joining you on the soapbox!

I know that some are not interested about the upcoming Royal wedding and some are just being discreet not wanting to show what seems to be everyone's interest lately but silently updating themselves to the topic. From different part of the globe people are talking about this Royal wedding and I want...

I watched the Once Upon A Time marathon the other day, and I was quickly hooked. What a great idea this show is! People from a fairy tale world sent to a very American-like small town, falling victims of a powerful curse, from an evilqueen who is also the town's Mayor. (And she's a total bitch!)The...

I've been online for almost 4 years, 2 1/2 of which have been spent writing for HP. There are a few thoughts I would like to share with my fellow writers that I feel might be helpful to them.First, we should never forget that behind all of the figures are real people. People who seek...
