Has anyone had success making money or being picked-up by a publisher?
There have been stories about people who self-published and then sold / promoted their book themselves and then got a publishing deal. Basically, if you (nobody) can sell 10,000 copies, then they (somebody) should do fine.
Based on your title, though, whatever you do, don't self edit

If there are any professional, published authors here on hubpages (and I'm sure there are tons of you guys) I was wondering if someone could tell me if self-publishing is good or bad, and maybe give a couple of pros and cons. It would be my first book.
