Buy A Chainsaw Online - Review

Updated on August 14, 2009

Whether your home is in a small neighborhood or on a large ranch, a chainsaw can sure make life a lot easier. No matter what part of the country you live in, chances are that after a hurricane, tornado, or even a large rainstorm, there will be at least some large branches to clean up on your property. Be smart, be proactive, and buy a chainsaw online to ease the burden for tree removal when the situation arises. There is always a great bargain that can be found. You just need to find it. Get the best gas chainsaw brand for your money - Husqvarna, Stihl, Echo, Troy-Bilt, or Makita.

My Husqvarna Rancher 455 Gas Chainsaw Sure Came In Handy

After some continuous heavy rains last year, I had several downed pine trees that blocked access to my driveway. The root systems for the trees where I live are so shallow that it doesn't take much wind to bring a tree down once the soil is completely saturated.

I had already purchased a Husqvarna Rancher 455 chainsaw and was able to get the trees cleaned up in short order. Luckily, I also have a couple of sons that helped get the job done. I saved myself around $1,000 for what I would have paid a tree surgeon to take care of these trees for me.

Other Reasons To Buy A Chainsaw Online

Why should you buy a chainsaw online? Besides the situation mentioned above, here are a few other reasons that I've experienced first hand.

There are some dead bay trees on my property that are about 40 feet high. They are located about 20 feet from the side of my house and leaning toward the structure. These trees need to be taken down or I will eventually have a tree attached to my roof and some damage inflicted to the side of the house.

Having my own saw affords me the opportunity to take care of this task and keep some hard earned money in my wallet at the same time. Of course, this will be a tough job and I will need some assistance from family and/or friends.

Speaking of friends, I have a friend who moved into a house where a tree was planted too close to the front and the roots from the tree caused a water pipe running from the water meter to the house to burst. That tree had to be removed to prevent any further damage to the water pipes or house.

The roots from large trees have been known to cause the concrete foundation of a house to crack. Besides trees falling into houses, they can also interfere with power lines or telephone wires running to the house and need to be routinely trimmed.

If you plan on buying any large acreage, I can pretty much guarantee that there will always be a need to saw up and remove a fallen tree. It will seem like a never ending occurrence. You can shred up the pine trees for mulch and chop up the oaks for firewood.

Start A Side Business With A Chainsaw Purchased Onine

After a heavy rainstorm with some high winds, you can drive through just about any neighborhood and see fallen limbs and trees. In many cases, the busy homeowner doesn't have the time, knowhow, or equipment to clean up the debris himself. This is a perfect opportunity for you to step in and offer to solve his problem.

Many homeowners need to have a tree taken down and removed because of the reasons previously stated. How about buying a chainsaw online to start a side business. All it takes is the word of mouth from several satisfied customers and you are on your way to earning some serious extra cash.

To make even more money, you can offer to haul the wood off as part of the service and either chop it up and sell as firewood or shred it up and sell as mulch. Heck, you can also cut the wood up into lumber with a small lumber mill machine and sell the lumber or use it for other projects around the house.

Don't Forget About The Accessories

When buying a chainsaw online, it is always a good idea to buy extra replacement parts and supplies such as extra saw chain oil, saw chains, and a saw chain sharpening kit. This tip can eliminate any unnecessary delays when working on a cleanup.

If a case isn't included with the purchase, buy one. Having a chainsaw without a carrying case is like having tools without a toolbox. In many cases a special bundled package is offered at a reduced price that includes some or all of the accessories mentioned above.

9 years ago from Red Deer, Alberta

I am needing a chain saw and was thinking about getting stihl, but am now thinking about getting a husky on line for cheaper... Depending on how much the shipping cost to Alberta Canada is? I am from B.C and have a few years exp with cutting tree's, but now I live in the Alberta flat lands so a smaller saw will most likely work fine.
