When the American designer Micheal Graves wanted a better kettle to boil water for instant coffee he, consulted Alberto Alessi. Together they came up with the traditional Stove Top Kettle, the market leader we now know.

The large magnetic stainless steel base diffuses the heat perfectly so the water boils quickly, the neat ivory handle is easy to grip and placed high up on the kettle and not near the flame. Topped off with the whistling Ivory bird ,they had the perfect kettle that is simply a joy to use.

Future Designs

The Alessi kettle soon took off in popularity and was easy to produce, The electric version of the kettle was introduced in 2001, of course you miss the whistling as the power cuts off once it has boiled.The original stove top kettle has gone from strength to strength and as well as the original ivory trim it is now available in blue and black, but the simple and neat design has always remained helping make it Alessi's best-selling product of all time.
