Updated on March 10, 2011

Alessi kettle

It is now 25 years since we were introduced to the Alessi kettle, the shiny stainless steel finish and the volcano-shape design makes the Alessi the best looking hob kettle available today, and its still fresh and innovative when it first came to our attention.

The highly distinctive and merry whistling bird gives the 9093 Stove top kettle a funky art deco look and a must have accessory for all style of kitchens.

Alessi kettle Design

When the American designer Micheal Graves wanted a better kettle to boil water for instant coffee he, consulted Alberto Alessi. Together they came up with the traditional Stove Top Kettle, the market leader we now know.

The large magnetic stainless steel base diffuses the heat perfectly so the water boils quickly, the neat ivory handle is easy to grip and placed high up on the kettle and not near the flame. Topped off with the whistling Ivory bird ,they had the perfect kettle that is simply a joy to use.

Future Designs

The Alessi kettle soon took off in popularity and was easy to produce, The electric version of the kettle was introduced in 2001, of course you miss the whistling as the power cuts off once it has boiled. The original stove top kettle has gone from strength to strength and as well as the original ivory trim it is now available in blue and black, but the simple and neat design has always remained helping make it Alessi's best-selling product of all time.

The Alessi kettle is easy to clean, with just a quick regular rub with a cloth keeping it looking just like new, once you’ve tried this kettle you’ll wonder why you ever settled for any other kettle than this truly elegant and unique design. The Alessi kettle is simply the best kettle on the market today.
