the real get away is unsighted owing to such worldly hindrance, dear friend, until you WILL look beyond them.

mountain retreat getaway. The climate is usually cooler..oftentimes, there is water or waterfalls nearby.  Crisp, fresh air!!!

The mountains...without question.  Trees, birds, berries, vinery, wildlife, springs, creeks, lakes, ponds,.........

Ocean front........ocean, houses, resorts, ocean, hotels, ocean, casinos, sand, ocean, shells, ocean.    Enjoyed my few visits, but give me the mountains.

A mountain retreat with a view of the ocean smile Yes, I know, I have to be different. But I like the combination of both. I love the isolation and peacefulness of a mountain retreat but without a view I feel closed in and somewhat claustrophobic. Living on the coast, there are always places that have both and I love it.

I like this question! I would choose a mountain retreat. I love the pure air and the beautiful views. In summer there are meadows full of flowers, in winter there is powdery white snow. You can also see a lot of wildlife up in the mountains.

I live near the ocean and it is beautiful on a nice day. When the weather is bad it's not a great place to be.

Oooh, I'd like to see some hubs based on this question.  "Top 10 Mountain Retreats in the US" and "Top 10 Ocean Front Retreats in the US" come to mind!
