samanthajoanne welcome to hubpages, how about a light earth tone, such as beige or tan.

Pale yellow may be a good color.  I think I would get some paint chips and try them on the wall to see what would work best.  Maybe even get some paint samples of the colors I like.  Lowes sell paint to try now.

It is really hard to choose a color without seeing the colors of the floor and cabinets.  Just because the cabinets are dark, doesn;t mean a lot.  What kind of tint do they have?  Are they more brown than green or red?

Paint color choices depend a lot on lighting also in a room.  How much natural light do you have, etc. . .?  Also know that the color will look differenty at night and different times during the day depending on the light, be it natural of from lighting fixtures.

Do you have any rugs?  If you find a nice area rug with a pattern or design of some sort on it that matches the couch then you may be able to draw on one of the colors from the rug for a wall color, using the rug to help tie the room together.  It doesn't necessarily have to be a rug, though.  It could be a throw or pillows or even artwork.  It's a good way to find colors that work together-- finding things in which they are already work together.  I like the other suggestions here as well: going for a neutral wall color will make it easier to blend other things with and also try paint chips and then samples before committing.
