How do you tell the difference between Yarrow and Hemlock?
I am looking for a very detailed hub explaining the differences between Yarrow and Hemlock. Pictures would be a bonus as well!
However, it's very easy to tell yarrow from Poison Hemlock because the leaves are very different. Before harvesting Yarrow, look up the difference between both.
Yarrow is a flowering plant that grows that is native to the northern hemisphere. It produces white flowers in a cluster at the top of the plant. Flowers usually bloom May through June, though in cooler regions and in the mountains it will flower much later. The leaves are fern-like and feathery. Yarrow usually grows in disturbed areas or soil that is dry and poorly developed.
Yarrow is a powerful plant that was used by the Natives for medicinal purposes. They used it internally to help fight colds and the flu and externally to heal wounds, cuts and eczema. this is the image of yarrow
