How can I grow a fruit-bearing tree from the seed or pit of a store-bought fruit?
I've been reading about a lot of GMO (genetically modified) foods on the market now. Are most seeds and pits modified these days? Can I grow fruit-bearing trees from the seeds of store-bought fruit?
BUY ORGANIC ONLY. Also, if you want to grow your own tree or plant from, say, an organic avocado you bought, you have to let the seed dry out _completely_ before trying to grow it. When dry, put toothpicks in the side (parallel to the ground), place onto glass of water. Only the bottom half of the seed should be in the water. The toothpicks keep the upper part outside of the water. Hope that helps. But if you don't buy organic, there's no point doing this!

What do you do when a store far from home forgets to take the security tag off your purchase?I bought an expensive jacket in a foreign country, flew home, and just now noticed they forgot to take the security tag off of my beautiful jacket. I don't want to ruin it by trying to take it off myself...
