Are you willing to stand up against "pink slime" filler being added to grocery store ground beef?
ABC News reported this week on a substance called "pink slime" being added to ground beef as a filler. The story was a result of the whistle blowing of two former USDA scientists.
I can't remember the last time I bought minced meat.
We had scares of this nature over here in the UK, along with sell by dates and use buy dates. Aparently, it seems that butchers were allowed to cut steaks and display until the sell by date then cut any unsold into stewing cubes and give a later sell buy date then mince any unsold and give a later sell by date.
It is better to buy steak and mince it or chop it finely yourself, then you know what you're getting and also you have control of the fat content.
