Fear of electricity?
Many folks in the early part of the 1900's had unfounded fears of electricity. They thought it would give off vapors, and hurt them. Is there anything in our life time that has caused such a stir in the household?
I think a lot of people are afraid of the possible side effects of cell phones such as the radiation given off by them, and the dangers if they're kept close for long periods of time (obviously I'm referring to years of use)
I agree with Camila14, My wife and I often talk about the possible side effects of cell phones and the possibility of radiation. We also can see the younger generation having much more severe carpal tunnel due to texting.
Some people are afraid of microwaves because they think the microwave radiation somehow makes food radioactive.
When TV appeared first, children were advised by parents not to stay up close to the screen because of the danger of X-Rays. There may have been a danger in the early days of CRT tubes but screening lessened this danger over the years and emission is well below safety limits.
