How much ultra dish soap should be used to wash dishes?
I go through dish soap pretty fast, I end up adding more when my dishes are still greasy after I wash them. There is nothing printed on the bottle that indicates how much is needed to get dishes clean and grease free.
That's a very good question and what is even more interesting is that I pondered that question yesterday as I groc shopped. I saw Ultra on sale for only $1.00 which was a great deal. I picked up two bottles because I know that the soap just doesn't seem to do the job. I later saw a bottle of dawn dish soap for $2.44 and ended up buying that b/c I thought if I am buying two cheap bottles that don't do the job I am still throwing money out the window.
To answer your question: "too much!" to get them clean, LOL. I usually put a half a cap in and swish that around to make it really sudsy. But, invariably, I switch the water when it's time to do the pots and pans.
Hope this helps.
One thing to think about is your water softness. If you have soft water, you will be able to get away with using the cheap stuff and not using too awful much of it. If you have hard water, be prepared to use about three times as much soap if you want actual bubbles in the water. When we moved to a hard-water region, I had to switch from using the nicer smelling detergents that were cheaper to using Dawn. In the long run, it is cheaper to use the more expensive stuff if you are using less. To answer your initial question, I typically use about an ounce per sinkload.

I've never had a dishwasher until this past year. Never wanted one, 'cause I figured I could wash 'em manually faster and better than taking time to rinse 'em off and then load the dishwasher and then later take 'em out and inspect 'em to see if they really got clean.....plus I figured it...
