Blot with warm water until the majority of the stain comes out. Use a moist towel with a big of mild liquid detergent on it and blot some more before rinsing out the area with some more warm water. Use a dry towel and extract the water and the stain. If anything else remains, I spray a bit of Sol-u-Mel to it and blot. Works like a charm.
You can spray the carpet Oxiclean laundry stain or use Resolve spray. Leave it on the carpet for 4 minutes, then take damp cloth and apply it over the area.
Try to clean it with a good stain remover available in market today. Also you can go for homemade cleaning solution of vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda. Apply this on the stained area and let it get soaked for 10 minutes. Rinse the area with water and repeat the process twice for better results.
