Have you had problems with bedbugs?
How did you get rid of them?
I have not. Supposedly pesticides do not work and heat treatment though costly is adequately effective. The one thing about bedbugs is that they don't just live in mattresses as many people once believed. Once in a home, they will live in walls. That's what makes them so difficult to get rid of. They aren't just contained to a mattress or couch.
Pesticides DO work, but it takes a professional strength. Call a professional exterminator. It is about $350 per treatment and sometimes it takes more than one. We went through that and it is a LOT of work to get rid of them.
I don't have bedbugs. I was answering harmony. I was only talking about from what I've read about. But thank you for answering her. I hope it helps her.
I have never had problems with bedbugs. Maybe you should call an expert to handle them for you.
Yes, I have. My daughter had an overnight guest and we are thinking she brought them with her. We called our landlord and she called their pest control people. It was a major pest control company, but I do not remember which one. They sprayed, we threw out all of our padded furniture and our mattresses. We bagged all the cloth in our house in plastic bags, dried every bit of it in the drier for 20 minutes (that kills the bugs and their eggs), and he sprayed twice; at monthly intervals. We had to leave for the night each time.
We did not buy new furniture or mattresses for two months, so they did not get infested. We slept on the floor and sat on hard chairs. It was a nightmare, but we lived through it. My husband still had nightmares about bugs crawling on him at night two years later. We have not had a problem since that and if we ever do, I may just abandon everything and just leave.
That's the one thing I fear Becky. Someone comes over and has bedbugs and I don't know it....that's just terrible what you went through!
What a nightmare for you and your family!
I left most of the cloth bagged, except what we needed and put the rest in storage. I knew it would take more than one treatment and did not want to do all of that folding over again. I quilt and have a bunch of material.
I was answering Harmony Becky. Only going by what I've heard. I'm glad that you were able to get rid of yours with pesticides. I have heard that only heat treatment works. Glad that's not the case for you or anyone else who needs help with them.
This is of epidemic proportions in the United States. They are in 5 star hotels as well as your typical Holiday Inn. There is no treatment for bedbugs other than by extreme heat. This must be done by a professional and is very expensive. So, please do not waste your money on items that claim they will rid your house of bedbugs. This is not possible without an exterminator.
A professional exterminator can also get rid of them with pesticides that are only available to professionals. It is about $350 per treatment, with a nationwide company. I used one of those and got rid of them. It took two treatments.

Can race be disassociated with nationalism? Describe how that looks? What are the problems with multinationalism? What are the problems with a melting pot?
