MoneyDance Personal Finance Software

Updated on August 26, 2013

Looking for personal finance software that is easy to use, automated, and offers you a free trial? MoneyDance software is the choice for you! And here's why:

MoneyDance personal finance software is really easy to get started with. The interface connects directly to your online accounts, and has an intuitive nature that keeps you updated on all of your money activity. You will instantly be able to see your balance and a calendar. You will quickly be navigating through your bill reminders, conducting money management tasks, and loads of other options. The options are easy to access and have a real natural flow and user understanding.

The organization and streamline look of MoneyDance is far-and-away better than say, Quicken. Not as much eye-candy, but better functionality and a clean comprehensive appearance. The data entry concept is the big winner from where I'm standing. Instead of having to manually input every influx and output within your financial activities, MoneyDance can hook directly to your accounts, and several accounts at that, gathering all of your financial transactions for you. If you have been experiencing difficulty with keeping track of a number of accounts, this software is designed with you in mind. I find that MoneyDance is geared towards those who already have or are transitioning to, online banking.

MoneyDance International Conveniences

The MoneyDance financial software has an international flare with dollars and cents as well. The program offers you the choice of 8-language translations and a multi-currency support. On their home page you can track a pretty up-to-date money exchange rate. You will be able to manage your accounts, portfolio, budget and more from anywhere you may land. The helpful reminders for bill paying keep you free of late fees and penalties while helping you to protect your credit score and financial health.

So, we have learned that MoneyDance is easy to install and use, it has international flare, and communicates directly with all accounts up to the minute. Now, we can look at some of the warning features the software brings to the table. When you pop over to your account management in MoneyDance , you may see a category highlighted in orange. This is your financial software telling you to put on the financial brakes! This is an indication that you are getting close to exceeding your budget limits on whatever category is highlighted. How cool is that!?

You can also add extensions to MoneyDance: credit card pay-off calculator, debt pay-off calculator, and a number of other items to customize your finances.

MoneyDance Offers a Completely Operational Free Trial

One of the more "customer service" minded features of the MoneyDance software is, these guys let you have a fully functioning trial version of the program. You are allowed 100 FREE manual transactions to see what you like and maybe don't like about the product. Once you have used your 100 transactions it is very easy to turn on the full program and have unlimited use. You simply go to the MoneyDance website and buy the licensing key. Enter the key into your current software and "presto" no restriction will remain on transactions AND no new download is required!

The price of the full service program is around $39.99. So, for around the $40 mark you get the unrestricted program that requires NO Upgrade (beats the pants off of the quicken $70 price tag and never-ending upgrades).

Good review. I tried Money Dance because I too have recently started transitioning from PC to Mac. I have been using Quicken for probably a decade or more and am very familiar with it. However, I DON"T like Intuit.

I did not like Money Dance. I am wondering if I don't like it because I am so used to the format of Quicken or because it doesn't flow real well. I have investments and totally didn't like this feature.

I also really want something that works both on my iMac, iPad, and iPhone so I have access to all but everything I've tried I have been dissatisfied with. Maybe it's just me!
