Since we all earn from online writing, here on HP or somewhere else, I am wondering if there's anyone else who had received a mail from their states Franchise Tax Board about registering a business?
I had just received a letter from my city, stating that I had filed a business return with the California Franchise Tax Board. Also gives a Code stating that all businesses and individuals operating within City limits to obtain Business Tax Certificate.
I did checked my income tax files and on 2011, I had a 1099 filed from my Ehow earnings of less than $350. And I also saw this Schedule C-EZ (Form 1040) from my tax preparer. This is the first time I had received a letter to register a business. Anyone else who had encountered these? What did you do?
