What is your opinion on America's debt to foreign countries?
God never intended for our country to be in debt. To be in debt means that we are a slave to the debtor. Our country used to be free, but now we are owned. Im ashamed of the fact that our forefathers built this nation on christianity, and God's word and now look at it. Because so many have chosen to turn away from God and borrow in order to pay more debts and spend frivolously, we are in a big mess! I pray that God will have mercy on our country and give wisdom to our leaders, to stop running our country to the ground and start doing things that are going to cause us to get back on track and start being productive again.
It's shameful if you ask me, because like the previous commenter leslie4130 said "we are owned" and not free; and "we are a slave to the debtor". It's even more sad that some people, including those in charge, think that we have infinite money. The interest rates let alone the money the US owes is astounding and with the steady depreciation of the dollar it doesn't seem to be getting any better. We're digging ourselves deeper and deeper into a hole and no one wants to speak up on it for fear of losing their reputation. People who NEVER follow politics hear 'higher taxes' and are ready to shoot down the plan. So if people can't compromise, politicians won't talk and we all just ignore it... you do the math. The 2 foreign wars and the new war in Libya surely isn't helping either. It's going to take a LOT of compromise and sacrifice in my opinion to try and take away (even some of) the debt this country is in.
