Have you already applied for pell grants from the federal government?  I used those for some of my online classes.

    Hi Meg7718,

After doing quite a bit of research on this, there appears to be quite a few grants and scholarships "out there" for people but the eligibility requirements limit just who can apply to which grants. There are grants and scholarships available at different times of the year and some are "open" to just about anyone while others are restricted to a relatively few people.
Always, I advise people to contact their local college financial aid office. They have professional staff that should be able to help.

There are books on the subject of scholarships at many libraries.

There are websites that provide helpful information and here are a few:

The College and Career Library at http://www.booksinformationandmore.com/

FinAid! has a lot of very good general information at http://www.finaid.org/

Please remember those Pell Grants and other such financial aid the the U.S. Department of Education has.

Scholarships.com at http://www.scholarships.com/   has information about scholarships and a free scholarship search service.

Please remember that you DO have options and there are resources available to help you.
