Has anyone been enrolled in or received a degree from an online college such as Walden University?
If what was your experience like? Is it comparable to a brick and mortar college?
My BS as well as my MA are both through distance learning. Most of my undergrad work was classroom-based, but I finished up at Regents College (now called Excelsior), which is based in Albany NY. It's fully accredited, highly rated, and serves many military members who travel a lot.
I currently teach upper- and lower-division courses at Park University, which also works closely with the military and offers online degree programs. Because I'm now a faculty member, I'm seeing it from the 'other side,' and I can tell you there's a lot of training and front-end work for online courses to be developed and to prepare faculty members to teach online.
Unlike years ago, online education is recognized as a viable and credible way of learning and earning a degree.
If you are doing it for career advancement, you should talk to professionals in that industry to see how online degrees are treated on a resume. In some fields, having an online degree only may be considered equivalent to having no degree, while in others an online degree is not treated much differently. Good luck.
I'm also currently looking for online college, but based from what I heard online education has a lot more to offer compare to traditional universities. http://www.elearners.com/colleges/

I need some advice. I have been considering going back to school, but I do have to work full time. I thought an online program might be a perfect fit for my schedule. However, after doing some research, I am concerned that these schools may not provide the end result I am...
