What kind of investment for a small budget would you recommend that would turn a profit steadily,
other than CD's?
I'm afraid CDs are not a good bet. The return is very very small and probably not keeping up with inflation. Stay out of anything that is related to the bond markets you will get stung.
In these troubling times the focus has to be on return OF capital rather than return ON capital. Gold and silver therefore are the best (but by no means certain ) bet for this. The long term trend for gold is clear and it is by no means too late to get on board.
The best investment in my opinion is yourself. Find a business or niche that is simple and that you can turn a profit on regularly. It does not even need to be full time. You can find small opportunities you can exploit. Good luck
