How to get things for christmas on a small budget.? Do you know how?
Beside putting your things on layaway. What else, you can do.? The way layaway works in many stores. It is simple. You give a small percentage of the total items purchase. Then, you leave the items on hold at the store. Later you can come and pay the rest. Some stores, allow you to make a few payments. Until , you pay all the total purchase. Then, you can take all your items with you.
Christmas gift giving can certainly put a strain on a small budget. There are a few things you can do, but they require planning ahead.
Shop for gifts for next year right after this Christmas. You'll get great bargains on seasonal items, holiday clothing and holiday items for the home. Check out gift baskets of bath and body lotions, too.
Shop for gifts all year long. Take advantage of sales and pick up unusual items through the year. (Keep a list in your purse of what you've purchased so you don't forget!)
Make a budget and stick to it! It's so easy to overspend at holiday time. You won't be left with a warm fuzzy feeling if you are deeply in debt in January!
Consider making gifts using your special talents.
Children are the hardest because they often want the latest toy or electronic device that they've seen on TV. Remember that you don't have to get everything on the list. Perhaps asking the kids to number their lists in order of preference will help you make decisions.
Enjoy the season, but don't make it all about gifts. There's so much more to enjoy about the holidays...family, friends, baking, music and shared good times...
