How do you know if someone use your social security number to file taxes last year
At the very least by filing your return the IRS matches your name with your Social Security Number to the Social Security Administration. If your Number shows up on more than one income tax return, either as taxpayer or dependent, you will receive a notice from the IRS.

Should I give my Social Security Number?I was looking at the HubPages earing page and you have to fill out at W9 for the earnings which makes sense. I am just a little freaked out to put my Social on the Internet, especially to a sharing site like this. I just wanted to know what I should do.
