Child support payments should be a tax deduction if my ex doesnt have a job and she lives off my $$
I gross $4000.00, I pay $1800 a month on childsupport/ alimony, I have no tax credits so I have to pay $6000 to $10,000 every year back to the IRS. I make monthly payments of $500 to them. I have to eat all month, gas, rent, etc. Why cant I use my childsupport payments as a tax deduction? My ex doesnt even have to report it as income. Why???
Simply put, you should get an accountant. You should be getting a tax return unless your fianances aren't properly done. If you had debt beforehand, and you did not pay the IRS previously, there will be some trouble, but it should be easily worked out if you can organize your paperwork. As for you ex, no money being made by her person means no tax information to report. It's a loophole in the system.

When should the line be drawn for a non-custodial parent who refuses to pay child support? Is there a set amount before something is done?
