I wouldn't just hand money over to a charity . I would visit orphanages etc personally , see what needs doing & pay for it etc as well as helping people be able to have much needed treatment etc.
I'd be like Elvis, "Hey - Pink Cadillac!"
I would like to donate it to some educational purpose for the deserved ones..
What does a lot of money look like again? ;-)
Just as a side note I want to say that regardless of how much money I have, I always give back to the community... I think it keeps us humble and reminds us that no matter how bad we think our lives are, there are always people out there who are worse off than us.
I donate to the Salvation Army because I know of many people who have benefitted from their services, they do good work. I also donate to the local food bank because I personally had to use a food bank when I was a single mother and going through hard times. They do so much for the community and I am greatful they were there for me and my daughter to help put food on our table.
