How much are you paying for gas for your car? What have you done about it, if anything?
In my area (San Diego, CA), regular gas is 4.29 and up. This is the worst I've seen it.
Last time I bought gas was about 10 days ago and it was $3.79. What can we do about it? I only drive under 15 miles a week but live way to far out of town to walk, and we have no public transportation.
duffsmom--thanks for the answer, what can we do about it? We could stop buying cars that use too much gas. This is kind of funny...I just bought a 4 cyl, 1975 Datsun, it gets about 27 mpg, it's not very pretty but it gets there. I also do not have to smog it - it's smog exempt here in CA which will save me even more. This is what I am doing about it.
Mmm, have you got cars that run on gas then? Ours run on petrol. what sort of gas is it and is it cheaper than petrol? What do you have, smething like a calor gas cylinder?
When I bought gas Sunday, I paid $3.48 (with my 10 cent per gallon discount from Kroger). If it doesn't go down soon, I'll have to let my son ride the bus both ways to school instead of taking him in the morning and letting him ride home in the evening. We've cut our trips down to the bone but we live in rural America and the nearest grocery store is 15 to 20 miles away.
I'm not very happy about the spike in gas prices. There are many things the country could be doing to become energy independent and keep prices down. However, they are not.
Personally, I try to do little things. One very small thing is when I arrive at the gym 15 minutes early at 0'dark thirty, I cut the truck and heater off and just freeze until they open the doors. I can't tell you how enjoyable that is....

Hi Hubbers, I just wrote an article about living car free that's over 3,000 words. To me, that's too long, but I can't figure out what to cut. I'm also planning on writing a hub with tips about how to get around using public transportation, going into more detail about things to watch out for....

I bought my first car just a mere half a dozen years ago. It cost me £360. How much did yours cost you?

With the price of gas so high do you walk, ride a bike or take public transportation more?I live in a small town without public transportation. But, as the weather gets nicer and there is more light in the early morning, I plan to start walking to work. Have you changed how you get to...
