My employer uses STD as an acronym for Short Term Disability.
While each company can setup their own deduction or earnings code description for STD, the most common one is Short Term Disability, as Jenn-Anne mentioned below. If you are unsure what description that your company uses for STD, you can check with your company's payroll department for their specific description.
