The government shut down is to happen at the end of this month.

I'm honestly not sure how it would affect us.  I've seen it before where they say a shutdown is inevitable and then they don't shut down.  But I don't remember it ever going through an actual shutdown.  Good question.

Most services will continue. The main effect of a government shutdown will come later when payments for those services must be met at higher cost and an increase in the national debt. Each government shutdown has cost the taxpayers millions of dollars.

My husband and I won't be affected but my daughter works for the fed. gov't and as of tomorrow she will be furloughed without pay.  We may have to help them and we really don't have enough to support two houses.

I am so angry at our government for allowing this to happen. Each side is so determined not to let the other side get ahead that they will allow the American people to suffer.

The sad part is the American people are already suffering from our country being 17 trillion in debt. Most Americans don't realize our food and fuel prices are a reflection of de-valued money. Though I think shutting down DC would be a start.
