Do you budget your spending daily, weekly, monthly or not at all?
I budget firstly with an annual perspective followed by weekly and daily. Monthly to me (today) is likened to annual as it is just distribution of the annual budget at intervals. Of course to budget effectively no matter the base one must know the revenue intervals. My revenue interval is fixed and it is monthly, however expenses occur daily while expenditures are monthly while both affect the annual budget.
All 3 really. I keep track of my total money, and then I have sub divided notes of what amounts of that total sum is going to be used for.
Yearly, and then divide it by 12 so I know how much I need to put aside every month. I'm a freelancer, so income is always at different times and in different amounts, so trying to do a short-term budget would be catastrophic with our busy household.
We try to budget monthly; meeting the goals is easier with the "pay yourself first" method.
Putting a chunk back automatically for retirement and savings means you tend to shift your spending down to fit the remainder in the checking account.

How much time do you commit to writing and is that daily or weekly? What time of day do you write? Is it in the early morning before you go to work (if you have a day job), during the day, or late at night? Lastly, outside of writing being a passion, who or what encourages you to do so?
