Our world of political lies and congressional deceit.

We live in our very own "House of Cards" built on lies and deceit. (God creates the beauty - man exploits and destroys it for blind self serving)

We cling to those lies and the deceits as though they were a life raft carrying us across an infinitely endless sea of time and space; and thus it is so.

Without this "raft" to protect us from the sea of lies and deceit, we would surely perish from their weight. The weight of knowing the true abandonment, desolation and despair that is our true legacy as humans.

So, we attempt to protect our fragility by wrapping ourselves in a shroud of lies, fantasy and a fairy tale existence that gives us a glimmer of hope, and redemption, as a "reward" for this foolish, useless, and empty existence, that we experience here on this isolated planet in an endlessly vast universe.

This planet we live on is less than a single, and highly dissoluble grain of salt in an uncertain existence, in which we try to ignore the fact that any unknown variable could ultimately destroy this planet in the blink of an eye.

What brought about this revelation for me today?

Yesterday our electricity blinked off, and on, four times during the day.

The sky was a clear and a beautiful shade of blue; adorned with white "balls of cotton" clouds, floating by on a soft warm breeze that filled the air with the sweet smells of spring and the promise of another season of sunshine and warmth, bringing back the beauties of nature for yet another year.

Then, after turning on the computer, the first news article was about how the huge solar electrical storms taking place in our little solar system was simply titled:

Just another solar storm, quite insignificant actually, in the vastness of an endless universe.

Just a small reminder of how fragile this planet really is.

But, who even noticed this phenomenon?

It did not actually effect any one of us individually on a noticeably physical scale, or at least not overtly so.

Those that did notice it are the ones who appreciate the delicately balanced environment in which we all exist; and just how vulnerable we are to any number of cosmic dangers that could annihilate this planet at any time.

Somehow all this "insignificance" of a day of solar flares became a major revelation, or realization, of just how awful, mean and nasty the earth's inhabitants have become toward each other over the past several years.

We are all subjected to constant subtle manipulation by figures of authority on a daily basis. So much so in commonality, that one hardly notices anymore. We just seem to except it as our inevitable fate.

We are lied to and deceived on a daily basis.

These liars' lies have become an accepted way of life for most of us.

We are lied to by everyone in authority; by governmental, business, and religion..

We lie to ourselves for self preservation. And we lie to our children to shield them from those "awful" bad things in life.

We have built an entire civilization based on lies, deceitfulness, deception and dishonesty, superstition, and fanciful religious magical mysticism.

Then turn around and lie to ourselves about being a "christian nation".

"what fools we mortals be, when first we practice to deceive......" and it becomes an entirely acceptable way of life.

In a presidential election year we see these disturbing new trends in such ugliness never before witnessed in our history. Lies and vulgarity are the new norm in our society. Even more sadly those lies and vulgarity are coming from the "conservative" right that is supposed to be embracing religious morality instead of promoting hatred and negativity toward minorities, women, the gay population, immigrants, non-christian religions, the poor, the homeless, veterans,....the list is endless.

How sad and pathetic that there is such ugliness alive and thriving on such a beautiful and fragile planet. A planet that gives us our very life and existence. A world that greed and self serving will ultimately destroy for the sake of greater corporate (and individual) profits.

We seem to have learned nothing from past mistakes, or from the stark reality of scientific proof that man's folly is destroying the very planet we depend on for survival.

There is no discernible "intelligent" life on this planet after all.

Humans do not deserve to live in such a beautiful world; and will ultimately destroy it for the greed and self serving of a few, and this crazy belief that they (we) actually have the "right" to do so. Capitalistic monetary gains now out trump (no pun intended) sanity, logic and humanitarianism.

There will be no significant changes to our every day life styles, as we are so totally caught up in ourselves, to the exclusion of others; and forsaking all logic, until the day of global disaster strikes. Then will humanity wake up - or, as usual, simply blame each other for bringing 'God's wrath' down upon us once again.

It IS always best to blame someone else; that way we do not have to take any personal responsibility for the sorry state of our current mundane existence.
