No Confidence in American Politicians

Updated on September 25, 2011

Inside the Beltway Pirates

Failure of Confidence in America

From Main Street to Wall Street to Pennsylvania Avenue the doubt of confidence we have in our leadership has left main street hit Wall Street and now sits directly in the arms of President Obama. Perhaps if he had actually had a plan when he entered office instead of spending months and months throwing exceptionally expensive spaghetti at the wall to see what stuck and then ran with that policy no matter how absurd or ridiculous it seem and no matter what the consequences.

America lacks any confidence in their leaders at all. And it isn’t just Congress we doubt anymore. It is all of DC. Between threatening people with entitlements cuts and social security cuts to increasing the flat regressive tax which has caused hyper inflation it has cost both parties a complete and total lose of their credibility with this country. And the people’s palate is so soured by both parties there may not be any appetite for any leadership at all but service oriented individuals who have exceptionally limited power. The Tea Party Movement is all but dead at this point.

The problem is the government has used fear as a coercion method for far too long and people are no longer afraid. They had to know when they engaged in fear mongering that the people would wake up and never be afraid again. Of course the government could always perpetrate worse crimes upon people in an attempt to make them more afraid but it is highly unlikely it will be successful as if one of us falls another will rise. They can’t get all of us. And there are so few of them who require so much wealth of this country at the expense of the rest of us. It is truly amazing they have managed to hold on to power as long as they have.

I doubt partisanship is causing the economic woes of this country but more over the failure of leadership. And while the President can point fingers at Congress and everyone else the buck ends with him. That is his job, He has to take responsibility. And it is rather obvious that the EU may collapse and that will cause of double dip recession according to Michael Bloomberg on Face the Nation this morning. But if the stock market continues to spiral down while the flat regressive taxes continues to hike we will be in a grand depression. And in a depression nothing is worth anything. Especially the words of politicians.

The only way I see that it is possibly feasible for Barack Obama to stay in office another term is if there is another attack on the homeland in which we go back to war and no one wants that.

      Hi Frannie Dee,

I think your neighbors would make awesome politicians. And yes, we need to send the right people to Washington. I completely agree.

I love my fellow Americans and I don't not worship greed and power so I am probably not political viable besides what would Washington do when they had to hear the truth?

Thanks for reading, commenting and providing feedback. You made me smile and I appreciate it. Thank you so much.

A bigger problem is that when people are unhappy with the government, they feel powerless and don't vote for their officials. If we all take this seriously and start electing the right government officials, no matter what the office, maybe we the people can really have change. Some of my friends and neighbors would do great in Washington, maybe even Hubbers like you JT!
