PASS THIS BILL

Updated on September 9, 2011

INTRODUCTION

Fellow Hubbers, I have been trying to stay mellow and as uninvolved in national politics as much as possible. I have told you about my travails of last winter and I want to show the Lord how grateful I am for the gift He has given me of existence in His kingdom of creation. That said my gratitude is unbounded but I can ignore the fiasco known as Obama no longer. I probably shouldn’t have watched the Presidents Congressional address on the evening of September 8, 2011…….but alas I did

WHAT BILL BUCCO?

Other doubting Thomases such as I must stop arguing the merits and demerits of his speech and let him know one doesn’t say, “Pass this bill.” seventeen times in such an august address when there is NO BILL TO PASS. C’mon Barry, we’ve been through this with you before when the CBO said, “We don’t score speeches.” Likewise, congress doesn’t pass speeches so if you want to implore passage without delay, WRITE IT UP BUCCO!!!!!

At least Barrack is only half as bad as he was in 2009. He only wants to fritter away $450 billion of borrowed Chinese dollars this time instead of $900 billion. Gonna buy shovels this time?????

I also love the TALK of it being paid for.

THE WIMPY PAYMENT PLAN

President Obismo has come across this ingenious method of paying for every thing that I refer to as The Wimpy Payment Plan. For you Popeye fans you will recognize Wimpy imploring Popeye and others, “I will pay in a few weeks for a hamburger today.” This is the Presidents ploy also. I will pay for this with decreased amounts of increases in future spending. WOW it's like Monopoly money!!!!! It has no bounds.

Friends, if you are fooled by this flim, flam, I have some oceanfront property in southern Florida to sell you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God bless us everyone!!!

Paid for by whom is the real question? I'm tapped. Business is tapped. The world appears tapped. Where's the money going to come from? When this guy gets done with us there'll be nobody with a dime to their name...

and therefore no one left to tax.

Happy Birthday Lad!, As for the speech, I was fortunate to be working during that time, so my blood pressure was stable for the whole evening. Not much new said, and more of the ponzi scheme spending Washington has been so adept at. Looks like the country is starting to wake up and smell the Bull poop. November 2012 is beginning to loom larger and larger for the POTUS.

      Texasbeta,

The debt went where under which president? If you make up facts, do you think you will stump me? Unfunded liabilities are always wrong in my opinion. Don't duck responsibility. How's that for easy, BUCCO?????????

For your edification, when Bush was proposing tax cuts early in his administration, I did oppose them. I wrote a hugh essay about the MASSIVE $4.5 trillion debt in 1991 and why it would be one reason George H. W. Bush wouldn't be reelected. Once the Republican Congress and President Clinton established budget surplusses, we should have kept them an long as possible.

Interesting, so you feel that the Bush tax cuts, unfunded, were wrong then too right? You have a problem with deficit funded projects obviously. So, when the debt went from $10 trillion to $14 trillion under our previous President, you were writing these hubs huh? Sure ya were. Did Bush require that Congress pay for his spending as Obama did in the speech? Were there direct cuts associated with say, the PharmD plan? Too easy Bucco.

I thought Obama sounded a wee bit insane. Repeating the same phrase 17 times was ludicrous!

Hi, Tom, One of Obummy's more intelligent advisors probably told him the more you repeat a phrase, the more people will remember it.

How about we all keep repeating, "Remember in November (2012). Remember in November."

      tony,

I'm afraid so. I am tired of hoping this president will give up being a political hack and do something for the country. It just isn't in him.

      Thank you for the comment.

We had no power where I live Tom,so I was not able to see the speech. I was more mad that I missed the game ! Apparently from what I have read thus far the speech was just more of the same.
