The Unmasking Of the American Left

Updated on February 21, 2019

Jack is currently a volunteer at the Westchester County Archives. Before retiring, he worked at IBM for over 28 years.

Introduction

An observation since the election of President Trump in 2016 is that the left has gone completely overboard. They are not trying to hide what they believe anymore. It is coming out one by one.

- Feb. 2019

My Lists...

The top ten issues...

  1. Immigration and open borders
  2. repeal of the 2nd Amendment
  3. single payer healthcare
  4. climate change
  5. democratic socialism
  6. taxation
  7. deficits
  8. Supreme court
  9. race relations
  10. abortion

Immigration

The latest government shut down and the fight over the budget exposed the Democrats as the party for open borders. They don’t want a wall because it is the only thing that will stop illegal immigrants from invading our country. In the past, they always say they want to fix this problem and they wanted to comprehensive reform and they want a secured border. They even agreed to building a fence until Trump wanted a wall.

President Trump called them out and they blinked. Nancy Pelosi went as far as to accuse the wall as being immoral.

Second Amendment

The right to bear arms. Now the left has come out and say they want the 2nd amendment repealed. Even a retired justice of the Supreme Court holds such opinion. In the past, they always hide behind the fact that all they are after is to have a reasonable gun control legislation. They want to protect our children. Now we know. They think guns are immoral and obsolete. They think our Constitution is outdated.

Single Payer Healthcare

With the passage of the ACA in 2010, the problem with our healthcare system has been growing. The cost has not gone down as promised. In fact, most health exchanges are going out of business. Now, democrats are openly discussing a single payer system as the final solution. No more beating around the bush. President Obama said in a speech many years ago that the ACA is just a stepping stone.

Climate Change

The latest Green New Deal proposal by the democrats exposed what they really think. They really want to get rid of all fossil fuel by 2030. As crazy as that sounds, no less than 70 democrats have sign up to support this new sweeping initiative.

Socialism

Socialism is now mainstream. After years of the left academia brain washing our kids, they have convinced millennials that Socialism is a better alternative to Capitalism.

Karl Marx must be smiling from his grave.

Taxation

With all these programs, the left have openly called for taxing the rich to pay for them. They are pushing the idea of a maximum tax rate of 70% of income above $10 million.

Debt and Deficits

Along with a huge tax hike, they are floating the idea of debt does not matter. We can just print more money.

Supreme Court Appointments

The left has gone overboard with the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. They are willing to throw away our long standing justice system to block one appointment. They now believe a person is guilty until proven innocent.

Race Relations

The latest Virginia governor scandal is just one of many of late. It seems some democrats are behaving like the racist they accuse others of behaving. It is ironic how the party of slavery is now the champion of the down trodden.

Abortion or Pro Choice

After the famous Roe vs. Wade decision by the Supreme Court in 1973, abortion was made legal. Ever since then, we had this debate in this country about when life begins. The abortion issue comes down to when you believe life begins. It ranges from conception all the way to birth.

Recently, NY and Virginia are two states that proposed legislation to allow for late term abortion. This was never the intent of the original Supreme Court decision. Abortion was suppose to be a rare event and used as a last resort. Yet, over the years, Planned Parenthood had expanded its reach and now aborts over 1 million fetus a year, with government funding. Again, this was never the intent of Roe Vs. Wade. The left and feminist have pushed this window each year. Now, we essentially have abortion on demand. It is used as a form of contraception, and they want the American tax payer to foot the bill.

Now we see what the left is really about. They don’t value human life, they don’t value God and religion, and they certainly don’t value the uniqueness of women.

Summary

One side benefit of a Trump administration is the unmasking of the progressive left. By challenging them on a host of issues, they are forced to reveal themselves for who they are and what they really believe.

With TDS, they don’t even realize what is happening. It is fascinating to withness the self destruction of the left.

Holle, what are your moderate positions? I really want to know. The media has created this false image that the mainstream is the middle while the right or conservatives are the extreme while calling progressives the norm.

I am just curious who are the moderates and what are their main policies and positions on an array of issues...such as immigration, and abortion and climate change and deficits...

Personally, I'm sickened by the actions of BOTH major parties. I'm tired of voting for "the lesser of two evils." As a moderate, I haven't been excited about anyone since McCain ran. Sadly, moderates in Congress are a dying breed. Many of the Ds are going too far to the left, and many of the Rs are going to far to the right. Compromise has become a dirty word.

Yes, when one has a target on their back, reporting those who really personally attack others is worthless. It seems they are protected by the mods, or even worse, may be mods themselves using a fake username.

Yes, i agree with all of this. There are rules, ok.

I made sure I knew them before entering forums.

      No personal attacks. no problem.

Then it became no thread jacking.

      No obsessive arguing....

And i can honestly tell you i dont go around making personal attacks. Attacks on public figures and groups allowed.... I see it enough! I can honestly tell you i dont know why i was banned.

And why for 3 months at a time.

And why i see people say, "i always get banned"....i had 5 and it was bye bye.

And i know it was because of the topic, and one of the workers here.

      Because, i tested it.

I started reporting people for personal attacks, hijacking threads, obsessive arguing. And nothing ever happened.

So i figured they just ignored it cause it came from me. No way calling someone stupid or a sicko is not a personal attack. So why no ban?

The last try i made, they banned me from reporting. I guess that makes sense, since I'm banned from speaking.

And ive seen it done to others, too. Someone actually said "we have ways of getting rid of people like you"

Some one actually said, "they emailed me and told me not to engage with this one"

And i recently saw someone say they had a list of people with bad things to say about someone else in case they tried to engage.

There are personal vendettas going on, and that is not ok.

As Randy said, if they target you, Sayonara.

How is that good business, let alone respecting the 1st amendment?

      Its a serious issue here!

It's a "privilege" they say to use the forums here. Try dealing with the mods and you'll find they dislike being questioned about their authority. My last two bans are an example. When asked for the particular comment which caused my ban, Matt furnished a list of BS comments, all of them less insulting than many passed over by other hubbers.

It's easy for the mods to do this as everyone violates the rules on some occasions. They simply search through your latest comments until they get what they need to excuse themselves from blame.

When you get a target on your back, it's only a matter of time....

Leslie, I agree. All social media, not just HubPages, have a fine line to walk. How do you allow free speech and debate of ideas, and still prevent abuses of personal attacks and fakes news being propagated...

I do believe the first Amerndment is not a blank check. The people have persoanl respinsibilitues as well. Just like you can’t yell “fire” in a crowded theater if there is no fire. This is abusive speech that can cause real harm.

Exactly. No free speech on a writing site.....kind of an oxymoron. It’s one thing if there’s some reason to it, but when you see it’s not done in any kind of uniform basis, it does mean they target some, leave others alone.

And the ones they leave alone are some of the nastiest of the bunch.

I’m waiting tosee how the Sandmann case comes out. He claims targeting and bullying by the newspaper because of his maga hat, I/e his political views.

If he wins......that opens up a whole can of worms.

And, in fact, I think they need to add political affiliation in the discrimination laws. You can’t discriminate on the basis of sex, religion, etc. But, what if someone in power doesn’t like your political views? Do they use that to discriminate?

Sure seems like it to me, when calling someone “stupid” and “sicko” are not considered a personal attack, but saying “ you have no credibility with me, either” is a 3 month worthy ban.

I was also shadow banned here, for over a year. When my post suddenly showed up on the feed, it was a surprise.

There are still times when it happens....mostly sundays and Monday’s.

And I know people here love to say, “if you were banned, you deserved it”.

Wait til it happens to them. They will feel differently.

We all join here on an equal basis. If they have certain pov they don’t like, it needs to be on the sign up.

Because having your 1st amendment violated is a huge deal. Huge.

I don’t have any interaction with the staff of HubPages. I have no idea why I was targeted. In the past, I was banned for a week for posting a link to one of my articles, in response to some discussions. Since then I was able to post a few articles by removing the http://. I believe the links are flagged by the AI system they use to alert them of possible violations. Unless another hubber file a complaint, I don’t see how they would know. There are too many articles and forum posts for the few staff members to monitor. IMHO.

It's because of me, Jack. I 've a target on my back and I'm told by the head moderator, Matt, it's only a matter of time when I'll be permanently banned from the forums for disagreeing with anyone when my present ban is over. No shit! LOL!

What kind of free speech is this? The mods treat us like school children as if we can't work our disagreements between ourselves without their input. Disgusting for a writer's site not to be able to disagree with each other. Screw them!!

And no one reported us Jack. Matt is on a power trip and it makes him feel good to use his authority to reprimand the writers. I feel bad he has to resort to such tactics.

Yes, I was banned for 4 weeks. It appears someone reported me for violating their self promotion rule. I am fine with it. I needed a break from these discussions on the forums. It gets no where and no one is convinced one way or another. It is odd someone would use the ban to shut off opposing views.

Jack......Time for some hard core facts of reality.....MY point was and IS, each individual and/or group, whether in politics or elsewhere, have their evidence and facts! You can call that anything you wish. Bottom line? It's pure Human Nature! and there is NO arguing that! I don't know why you would refer to the simple reality of this as a "phenomenon!" Like I believe, the phenomenon is the insistence to keep pounding on a firmly established & held ideology/group of people, continually, repeatedly....with such useless back & forth, including all the hate, insults, denials & blatant ignorance that we have ALL surely seen and experienced time and time and time again!

All the labels, talking points, opposing opinions, ever-changing facts and insistence of being RIGHT.....go directly into my trash bin, where they belong.....and I never expect that anything I say or believe will be welcomed, accepted or agreed upon by an opponent. WHY? I'm not blind, deaf, dumb and stupid. My time and energy is very valuable to me.

Well my friend, you disappoint me as well. Your link is to a Russian propaganda site. You should always check the About Page on any link that you post, either for who the contributors are or what the site is about. Talk about fake news! RT stands for Russia Today. Make sure you read the very last paragraph. They are financed by the Russian Federation. This is a prime example of TIPS (Trump's ill-informed Persons Syndrome).

This is from their about page.

      About RT

With its first international news channel launched in 2005, RT is now a global, round-the-clock news network of eight TV channels, broadcasting news, current affairs, and documentaries, with digital platforms in six languages and RUPTLY video news agency. Round-the-clock news channels in English, Arabic, Spanish, and documentary channel RT Doc, in English and Russian, broadcast from Moscow, while RT America airs from Washington, RT UK from London, and RT France from Paris. Today, RT is available in more than 100 countries spanning five continents.

RT creates news with an edge for viewers who want to Question More. RT covers stories overlooked by the mainstream media, provides alternative perspectives on current affairs, and acquaints international audiences with a Russian viewpoint on major global events.

RT is the winner of the Monte Carlo TV Festival Awards for best 24-hour newscast, and the only Russian TV channel to be a six-time Emmy finalist. In 2018, RT was nominated for the International Emmy Award in the 'News' category for a series of special reports about the humanitarian crisis in the Iraqi city of Mosul following efforts by Iraqi government forces and their Western allies to recapture the city from ISIS. The channel first made it into the International Emmy finals in 2010 for its coverage of US President Barack Obama's first visit to Moscow; in 2012, for coverage of Occupy Wall Street protests in the US in 2011; in 2014, for a series of reports on a Guantánamo Bay inmates' hunger strike; and in 2016, for its reporting on the 70th session of the UN General Assembly. Chris Hedges, host of 'On Contact with Chris Hedges', scored for RT America its first Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host. RT holds dozens of medals from the New York Festivals for its documentary and news programming, and has been repeatedly recognized by numerous international awards competitions and media organizations, including the Cannes Lions, the Webby Awards, the Lovies, the Shorty Awards, the Association for International Broadcasting, and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, among many others.

RT works with leading international media and public sphere personalities, and currently airs or has aired programs anchored by renowned broadcasting legend Larry King, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, Pulitzer-prize winner and Emmy-nominated journalist Chris Hedges, the "most dangerous financial expert" Max Keiser, former First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond, former President of Ecuador Rafael Correa, legendary football coach José Mourinho, top American news personality Rick Sanchez, and French media icon Frédéric Taddeï, among others.

In 2016, RT filmed the first-ever 360-degree video of Earth from space, and in 2017, in collaboration with Roscosmos State Corporation and Energia Rocket and Space Corporation, presented the world with the first-ever panoramic video filmed in open space, during a spacewalk.

In 2018, RT founded the Khaled Alkhateb International Memorial Awards to honor the sacrifice of RT Arabic war correspondent Khaled Alkhateb. Khaled died while working in Syria in 2017. The awards recognize the brave journalists who report from conflict zones around the world.

      RT AUDIENCE

According to a 2017 survey on TV news consumption by Ipsos, a leading audience research firm, RT has a total weekly audience of 100 million viewers in 47 of the 100+ countries where RT broadcasts are available. RT enjoys its largest regional audience in Europe, with 43 million weekly viewers in 15 European countries. In the US, RT has a weekly audience of 11 million. Across the Middle East and North Africa, where news consumers were polled in 15 countries, RT has a weekly TV audience of 11 million. In Latin America, RT's weekly viewership is 18 million.

In South America, RT is part of the national TV network of Argentina and Venezuela. It was picked up by a state-operated satellite system in Bolívia and the FESCOM Association in Colómbia, which includes 200 cable operators. RT's programming also airs on Cuba's national TV channel.

Online, RT is the top non-Anglo-Saxon TV news network in terms of traffic: in December 2018, RT websites, collectively, had more than 190 million visits, according to SimilarWeb.

RT Arabic leads among all other Arabic-language television news channels websites in terms of page views and unique visitors, surpassing the likes of Al Jazeera, Al-Arabiya and CNN Arabic. The online audience of RT Spanish is likewise ahead of all other Spanish-language websites of international news channels, including BBC, CNN, Euronews, France 24, and the Latin American channel TeleSur.

RT is the #1 TV news network on YouTube with more than eight billion views across its channels and over 12 million subscribers. In October 2018, RT Arabic became the first broadcaster of non-Arabic origin in the region to generate over one billion views on YouTube, leaving behind the Arabic versions of CNN, BBC, and DW, among others. RT Spanish has more than 1 billion views on YouTube — more than all other Spanish-language versions of international TV news outlets.

What does that mean 52% of the voting public disagrees with me...about what? I proved to you he is a prejudiced racist and a bully. What more do you need?

In his Venezuela speech, he was campaigning for his re-election by putting down socialism and equating it to communism without actually saying that. It was a ploy to make himself look superior to the democrats who are on campaigning. Again, socialism is not communism. He wants everybody stuck in the 50's. Jack: Trump is the one who is suffering from TDS. If you watched his Rose Garden address where he declared a national emergency. He rambled on about how great he has been as president. The only thing he left out was: "On the seventh day, I rested."

In the Q&A, he wouldn't even allow people to complete their questions before he started answering them and distracting them about how great he is. . He sets a very bad example for decorum as a president.

He tells CNN reporters to sit down before they complete their questioning because they are fake news. All of his derogatory name calling, from the time he was campaigning until now, is designed to do one thing, make himself look superior to those he doesn't like or opposes. This name calling also applies to conservatives as well as liberals, but conservatives are much better at name calling than liberals

Trump, among other things is a racist, prejudice bully. Here are the definitions of each from the English Oxford Dictionary.

      Racists:

Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

      Prejudice:

Preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. Dislike, hostility, or unjust behavior deriving from preconceived and unfounded opinions.

      Bully:

A person who habitually seeks to harm or intimidate those whom they perceive as vulnerable.

Trump is all of these things and more. Here is his record on racism:

Leslie, do you understand what a syndrome is?

I call it as I see it. TDS is real and I point out so many examples of it.

On the other hand, there is no LDS. I don’t have this affliction. The fact is, I have not suffered any down sides. I did not loose my job, or have to resign or have to apologize or make corrections...like so many in the media. I have not hurt myself or self destruct offering my opinion and observations.

      That is the major difference.

This is why I commented on your hub, Jack. You can’t call people mentally ill for criticizing Trump, then turn around and call leftists names.

Do you have Leftists Derangement Syndrome? By your criteria, you do.

And by Republican principles and standards, 2 years is NOTHING for an investigation.

Fair enough. Let’s see how this shapes up.

In my own mind, justifying bad behavior because of other bad behavior is never good.

We should all try and be consistent in our believes. There should not be a double standard when we act one way when it is someone we agree with and the opposite when it is someone we disagree.

It is called having principle and a standard.

And yes, I’ve already seen the conspiracy theory going on this one.....Kamala Harris did it.

Like I said, they both stand by their stories. Wait and see.

But, if it comes out he did it, I still get to say he didn’t, right? Going by trump logic and all......:-)

Just because a group calls something a slur does not make it so...it has to be based on some common understanding.

Let me use the example of the Washinton Redskins...

You remember this controversy a few years ago. Let me refresh your memory.

The NFL decided after many years, the term “redskin” was a racist name. They went around and ask some Indian tribes and they had no problem with it... The NFL decided to change it anyway...

      https://observer.com/2016/09/colin-powell-is-right...

And I find it mind boggling that a group of native Americans called it a racial slur, and still you deny it.....

It’s like a spell you are under.

And speaking as the mom of my daughter, I absolutely found it racist....I’m astounded at your views. No lie.

Leslie, you are too sensitive. Just because someone use an indian’s name does not make that person a racist.

So if I used Lincoln’s name in some joke, does that make me a racist...in any way?

Pocahontas was a respected Indian girl who saved a white man in the 1600s...

Trump used her name to make fun of Warren who is white but claims to have Indian heritage so she gets preferential treatment at Harvard...

      Calling her “Pocahontas” is satire...

Definition of racist is someone who uses race as the only determination to judge others and the secondly Uses that to hurt the individual such as deny that person a job, or some other thing...

A cop can be a racist by single out a black person to interrogate for a potential crime without cause... but using racial profiling is not a racist act...do you understand the difference?

Calling someone a slur is not cool but may not be a racist either?

Just because someone call me a chink, does not make him a racist.

He is a bigot and may be brought up to think that but it is no skin off my back. It becomes racist, if he use that fact against me. If he is the owner if a restaurant and deny me service because I am Asian, then he is a racist...

No it wasn’t a joke. He used it as a slur. Don’t believe me, believe them:

“Native American groups have denounced President Trump’s “Pocahontas” joke during a ceremony honoring Native American veterans. “The name becomes a derogatory racial reference when used as an insult,” the Alliance of Colonial Era Tribes’ general secretary said in a statement Monday. “American Indian names, whether they be historic or contemporary, are not meant to be used as insults. To do so is to reduce them to racial slurs.”

And I’ll say something else, which I have seen and heard, and absolutely call racist:

My in laws, had a young Hispanic man living with them. They called him spic. Racist.

My daughter is half Chinese. One day my dad says, in front if her, “let’s get some chink food”. Racist.

And I’ll add this, my father in law, in discussing my husbands case, said, “those crackers broke the law”. Also racist.

And I’ve been told calling people Tea Baggers is bigoted.

I’m sorry you can’t admit that mr perfect has faults....nasty ones. Unfortunately, this is turning out to be true

Wow, you just proved my point. Calling Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas is not being racist. Do you even know what a racist is? This was a jest of a white women claiming to be of indian heritage to gain favors in her past job...

By your definition, we are all racist...which then cheapens the term.

      I do agree.

Trump and his father were fined for not renting to black people.

Trump said Obama wasn’t born here, demanded his birth certificate....why? No other presidential candidate was required to do so.

      He calls Warren Pocahantas.....

He wanted black kids executed, even after being found innocent.

A person who worked in his casinos said that when the mafiosos came around, he made the black employees dissappear.....

Cohen says stuff....a former employee says stuff...not really using that, because it could be construed as heresay.

But public records, and seeing and hearing with my own eyes....yeah.

      He’s a racist.

      Not opinion. Fact.

Leslie, by the way, you must agree that not all opinion are equally valid...there are some that are too extreme and out of the main stream...and there are opinions that are actually based on facts...

In this case, with Trump, there are no two sides. There are no two equally “right” opinions. He is or is not a racist. One of us is right and the other is wrong.

Sorry, that is another opinion of yours, which can be disputed....easily. It’s quite simple for you to call people crazy because they don’t see things your way.

It’s actually a typical brainwashing technique. Did u know that?

It’s like another of your rightwingers here does.....shows a picture of someone is a straight jacket, after a comment she disagrees with.

Or, shows a picture of a cocktail.....implying the person speaking is drunk.

This way, she avoids a ban. Not like they need to worry. Quite a few can literally say anything they want.

Jack: Since then has Australia been taken over by a tyrannical despot? They do have a military that will protect them if that were the case.

The chances of the 2nd amendment being abolished is nil to nothing. Gun control people are not coming for your guns. Gun control people only want to curtail the sale of any further military style weapons to civilians. It would be an effort and a trend to keep those weapons from getting in the hands of the wrong kind of people. Overtime, hopefully, the senseless killing would be reduced or down to nothing.

"A few years later, it is not out of the imagination that a serious natural disaster or a terrorist act would allow a sitting president to declare marshall law...in the middle of the chaos, he could over reach and decides to suspend elections and create this tyranical government. By then, it would be too late for any citizens to resist. He would have no guns."

You are worried about that scenario and I'm worried about the senseless killing of innocent people that has taken place and will continue to do so if their is not an effort to curtail the sale of the weapons of choice for terrorist and the mental ill.

It is not an imagined scenario. Yesterday five people were killed including five officers injured in a shootout in Aurora Illinois. The shooters weapon even had laser sighting. That's real, not an imagined scenario. And all the government says is our thoughts and prayers are with you...because we are afraid you are going to abolish the 2nd amendment. Jack: Mob rule of a portion of a city and taking over a country by confiscating weapons from civilians are two different things. So according to you, one person is going to create a coup to take over a country by confiscating weapons. So a terrorist is going to come into this country and declare marshal law to protect the people. Who is he protecting the people from? He is the terrorist and our military is going to join his ranks. Does he do this overnight or does it take a long time? Because if it takes a long time, it will be difficult from him to pull it off because our constitution will prevent that from happening.

    • jackclee lm profile imageAUTHOR

      Jack Lee

No, it will not. Without guns, there will be a future scenario, however small, that say after a major disaster, natural or terriost, a leader will declare marshall law in the interest of protecting the people. He will cosolidate his power, and with the military behind him, suspend elections, impose a tyranny no one can stop. Only the masses with guns would prevent that person of even attempting this coup. That is the very essense of the 2nd ammendment.

If you think this is immpossible, just go back and look at the aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans...it was mob rule once the levy broke.

Time have changed but people have not. The founders knew that better than you or I. They want the citizens to have the insurance policy against a despot who like Hitler would come along and confiscate all the guns before unleashing his mass genocide.

Jack: Here is your text followed by my replies.

      “Immigration

The latest government shut down and the fight over the budget exposed the Democrats as the party for open borders. They don’t want a wall because it is the only thing that will stop illegal immigrants from invading our country. In the past, they always say they want to fix this problem and they wanted to comprehensive reform and they want a secured border. They even agreed to building a fence until Trump wanted a wall.

President Trump called them out and they blinked. Nancy Pelosi went as far as to accuse the wall as being immoral.”

Jack: There are already walls, fences, barriers, drones, sensors, et al along the Southern Border. When Trump says he is going to build a wall, it is a metaphor for his campaign promise to his base. What Pelosi is referring to that is immoral is the zero tolerance policy created by Stephen Miler and Trump. Stephen Miller is one of Trump’s senior advisors who is a dyed in the wool racist.

      “Second Amendment

The right to bear arms. Now the left has come out and say they want the 2nd amendment repealed. Even a retired justice of the Supreme Court holds such opinion. In the past, they always hide behind the fact that all they are after is to have a reasonable gun control legislation. They want to protect our children. Now we know. They think guns are immoral and obsolete. They think our Constitution is outdated.”

Jack: We don’t think guns are immoral. We think it is not necessary for civilians to have rapid fire high capacity magazine weapons that are designed for assaulting the enemy.

      “Single Payer Healthcare

With the passage of the ACA in 2010, the problem with our healthcare system has been growing. The cost has not gone down as promised. In fact, most health exchanges are going out of business. Now, democrats are openly discussing a single payer system as the final solution. No more beating around the bush. President Obama said in a speech many years ago that the ACA is just a stepping stone.”

Jack: The reason Obama said that is because his original ACA was a single payer system, but in order to get it through the republican congress he had to compromise, but is was always intended to be single payer. As far as the increase in cost, insurance companies have and always will be a for profit business.

      “Climate Change

The latest Green New Deal proposal by the democrats exposed what they really think. They really want to get rid of all fossil fuel by 2030. As crazy as that sounds, no less than 70 democrats have sign up to support this new sweeping initiative.”

Jack: What’s wrong with getting rid of fossil fuel?

      “Socialism

Socialism is now mainstream. After years of the left academia brain washing our kids, they have convinced millennials that Socaialism is a better alternative to Capitalism.

Karl Marx must be smiling from his grave.”

Jack: This is fault of the right. Every time they hear that word, they immediately equate it to Communism. The truth is we have capitalism with social services. Every time you call the police or the fire department, or an ambulance service you are using socialism. There are many services that lend themselves better to a socialist service than privatizing them.

      “Taxation

With all these programs, the left have openly called for taxing the rich to pay for them. They are pushing the idea of a maximum tax rate of 70% of income above $10 million.”

Jack: What Trump has enacted is the same thing as Reagan did. It is called Trickle Down Economics. It didn’t work then and it is not going to work now. The national debt is now greater than 22 Trillion because of his tax reform.

      “Debt and Deficits

Along with a huge tax hike, they are floating the idea of debt does not matter. We can just print more money.”

Jack: I don’t know where you get the idea that debt does not matter to the left. The reality is we will always have a national debt. Each president inherits the national debt from the previous president. Trump is the one who doesn’t care about the deficit. How is he going to pay for all his programs, including the wall, military spending, and his tax reform. How about the interest that has to paid on his 22 trillion debt. That is in just two years. How about the next two years?

      “Supreme Court Appointments

The left has gone overboard with the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. They are willing to throw away our long standing justice system to block one appointment. They now believe a person is guilty until proven innocent.”

Jack: That’s not true. How about Hillary, she was guilty until proven innocent with Benghazi. In fact they just gave up on trying to prove she was guilty.

      “Race Relations

The latest Virginia governor scandal is just one of many of late. It seems some democrats are behaving like the racist they accuse others of behaving. It is ironic how the party of slavery is now the champion of the down trodden.”

Jack: So, you take one case of something happened in 1984 and apply it to all democrats. That’s not fair

      “Abortion or Pro Choice

After the famous Roe vs. Wade decision by the Supreme Court in 1973, abortion was made legal. Ever since then, we had this debate in this country about when life begins. The abortion issue comes down to when you believe life begins. It ranges from conception all the way to birth.

Recently, NY and Virginia are two states that proposed legislation to allow for late term abortion. This was never the intent of the original Supreme Court decision. Abortion was suppose to be a rare event and used as a last resort. Yet, over rhe years, Planned Parenthood had expanded its reach and now aborts over 1 million fetus a year, with government funding. Again, this was never the intent of Roe Vs. Wade. The left and feminist has pushed this window each year. Now, we essentially have abortion on demand. It is used as a form of contraception, and they want the American tax payer to foot the bill.

Now we see what the left is really about. They don’t value human life, they don’t value God and religion, and they certainly don’t value the uniqueness of women.”

Jack: Conservatives are only concerned about the fetus. Once the child is born, they could care less about them. It’s the Hey I got mine, you get yours mentality from that point on.

      “Summary

One side benefit of a Trump administration is the unmasking of the progressive left. By challenging them on a host of issues, they are forced to reveal themselves for who they are and what they really believe.

With TDS, they don’t even realize what is happening. It is fascinating to withness the self destruction of the left.”

Jack: TDS is a made-up term by Sean Hannity, just like he made up the “deep state.” I have made up a term as well. I call it TIPS (Trump’s ill-informed Persons Syndrome).

Trump’s base is made up of people who are operating on all the ill-information that they are fed from Trump and Fox News.

They are suffering from the Dunning Kruger Effect.

They are two behavioral psychologist who gave people test about a wide spectrum of topics. There were those who thought they did really well on the test and those who did not think they did well.

It turns out the ones who thought they did well, did really bad and those who thought they did bad, did really well.

The point is people who are ill-informed don’t know how ill-informed they really are because they don’t know they are ill-informed.

Put another way, people can be so incompetent on subject and they don’t even know it because they don’t have the capacity to know they are incompetent.

In my view, that sums up Trump and his supporters. That’s why they chant build that wall when there is already a wall. They are ill-informed just like Trump is but they don’t know it.

I am not sure what you mean. I am doing very well here in the suburb of NYC. We are a Republican county in a sea of blue.

The problems and issues I cited are across the board and apply to us as a nation. You are in California and should understand full well what I am saying here. Your high taxes are driving people away. Your open borders have created a whole world of underclass. Your green efforts have created some of the failures of renewable energy experiments...

Tell us how well you are doing...I really want to know.

Rather a dim view. Even out here in the left coast we flourish. I feel bad for you who do not.

The left is imploding, and as you point out it is great that they are revealing who they really are and what they plan for the rest of us. Their dreams will never come true. Perhaps they can build their utopia in Venezuela. It may be for sale.
