Why does the United States put flouride in its drinking water?
As far as I know, the U.S. is the only country that has not abandoned this practice, which was championed by Hitler as a form of mind-control to make the public more docile. It's also a clever method for getting rid of a byproduct of nuclear waste. Hint: it's not the same kind of flouride that your dentist uses.
Flouride is added to water for health reasons becauses it helps the enamel of the teeth keep strong. Another fact is it makes the water sparkle. Perhaps the United States likes their water to sparkle.
There are much more modern methods for mind control to make the public more docile.
It's not the same kind of flouride that your dentist uses?
Flouride helps in fighting tooth decay. I've never heard of any other type being added to water supplies.
The idea started in Russia (then Germany) to promote passivity; it was believed that less guards would be needed in Gulags and concentration camps because the flouride would make the people docile. Flouride is only safe for human consumption up to 1ppm; after that the side effects are incredibly dangerous. It collects in the brain's pineal gland and hypothalamus and impairs brain function. Municipalities around the nation are constantly going over this limit (way over). The flouride in American drinking water is not the same compund that is found in toothpaste. Rather, it is industrial waste produced from phosphate and aluminum factories, fertilizer plants, and nuclear weapons manufacturing. Is it coincidence that the U.S. began flouridating water at the same time it began building the first atomic bombs? Bear in mind that the first work-related deaths and law suits at nuclear plants were from flouride exposure, not radiation.
Despite what some of the conspiracy theory websites may say, it is put in the water to promote dental health. It's also not added to the water all over the US, but is left up to each municipality to adopt it or not. I live in Wyoming, where most of the municipalities have opted not to add it -- and where tooth decay tends to be significantly higher than in areas with fluoridated water. I don't think we're any more or less docile than any other place, fluoride or no.
The most successful form of mind control and making the masses more docile comes in the form of mass media, and it always has. Governments love to use the propaganda machine and they're very good at using it, and what better way to get people's minds off of an education system that's horribly lacking than to give you plenty of empty-headed brain candy to watch day in and day out?
Read my hub on the dangers of fluoride. I'd suggest those making positive comments should definitely read it, very scary how you think ingesting something will make your teeth healthier.
Fluoride isn't intelligent, it doesn't just head towards your teeth!
If you want to use the stuff buy some toothpaste and apply it topically. And read the label!
And there is no statistical evidence that proves adding fluoride significantly helps reduce tooth decay. It is a myth.
Jonesy is right...the Nazis added fluoride to the water supply in the concentration and extermination camps to control, not because they wanted the emaciated inmates to have bright, sparkling teeth!

Would you rather have drinking water without fluoride? We don't swallow the fluoride when we get a treatment at the dentist. Why should it be in drinking water? Is cavity protection worth the known health risks to fluoride, which some consider an industrial waste product?

There are too many guns in the United States. How many more shootings need to happen for people to realize that the second amendment is outdated. I'm not trying to say that nobody should be allowed to have one, I have nothing against hunters, but that they shouldn't be a dime a dozen like they are...

What would you do if your state seceded from the United States as a whole?Recently I saw that about 20 states started petitions to secede from the U.S. and I'm curious what other people think about that.
