Will the battle against the attorney general holder benefit democrats or republicans?
It seems the attempt to hold Holder in contempt of congress will be a long and dragged out process. will it politically hurt democrats or republicans most?
At some point it would be nice if Politicians would actually represent their constituents.
Ultimately people will vote on EMOTION and what they BELIEVE is happening. Actual facts and what is really happening are actually irrelevant.
Logic will always lose out to emotion at the Polls.
Obama took a big step backwards today by using Executive Order to try and distance himself from this situation. He will take a big hit in the eyes of Conservatives, but it will likely not effect the liberal left voters in anyway.
You see it's not Facts and Figures that matter, it's how those facts and figures invoke an emotional response.
Bot parties are beholden to their Banker/Corporate Interests. We don't actually elect these people... they are put in front of us and we are told to pick from the lesser of 2 evils. MONEY is ultimately what runs the country... and the people that control the money control the people.
You can not campaign without money.
you make some good points, although conservatives already hate the president with a passion no matter what and at this point he is working on consolidating and mobilizing the base of his party,I do not agree that we do not elect these people.we do.
Get out your drums. Both sides will use this issue to bring supporters out.
you are right this will mobilize the base on both sides, but what we don't know is how it will affect the independent vote.
I agree with that. It's a wash politically. Everyone involved knows that, and so something else is motivating the investigation. Of course politics is a part. It's Washington, but those who call it simply political are ignoring most of the picture.
I guess, because this whole process was started under the Bush administration, I am wondering what we are ignoring as the bigger picture?
People who despise President Obama will continue with their hatred towards him. Those who support Obama will applaud his decision today. The fact of the matter is President Obama has invoked Executive Privilege only this one time. President Bush, on the other hand, used Executive Privilege 8 times, but I'm sure those on the right will claim Bush was justified and Obama isn't. It's a vicious political cycle we are in.
The republicans in the house and senate are like bulls charging at the president and they don't even care if they hurt themselves or the american people.
The unfortunate reality is that accusations such as this need no evidence. The Republicans know that they can toss out these types of stories, repeat it enough times, and some subset of the population will enshrine them as gospel.
Obama isn't a citizen, Solyndra, Fast and Furious, etc. It doesn't matter if these things are true or not. They become true through pure faith. This will hurt Democrats simply by providing sustenance for the zealots on the right.
Behaving like children and trying to score cheap political points while accomplishing NOTHING for the American people should hurt the Republicans but their supporters don't seem to mind, so I don't see this hurting them.
I agree it won't hurt them with right wing nuts but I'm not so sure it won't hurt them with moderates and independents.
A man lost his life as a result of a batched plan. This should be no different than any other homocide investigation. Withholding evidence is a crime. It doesn't matter who you are.
The office of attorney general should be completely transparent in this case. Obama should step aside and let the system go it's course.
Whether or not it's true, the Republicans will jump on this and scream cover up. And they will. That's how smear campaigns work.
I think obama spent too much time already bending over to try to please republican loons out to destroy him and at this point he realizes they can't take yes for an answer.
