Do Americans generally believe that their Government is acting in their best interest & representing the founding principles of the country correctly both domestically and on the world stage.

Thanks Petra, it is most interesting to hear your views since America is made up entirely of emigrants and my impression is that the majority are largely silent on this matter.
Especially immigrants are silent because they are afraid to be label anti-American; that will happen the minute you point out that there are problems with the American "democracy" Other than that "free speech" is still alive and well
Thanks Sunny, alas you are right I suspect. The pressure of everyday living and struggling does inevitably take precedence over everything else. Someone described what has happened with banks and property as selling the cow to buy milk. :(
Thanks Daskittlez.. this is something that is wrong with the entire system globally and I wonder it is designed that way to keep the tribes happy fighting among each other for little baubles of victory.. :-(
Thanks for the comment, this is an interesting way of looking at it, perhaps then with the rise of social media the average person will become more aware. In time this could bring more accountability.
Perhaps, but I doubt it will last. Look at what happened to WikiLeaks when it almost made governments unable to function clandestinely. The corporate-controlled payment avenues kept it from receiving funding. Now politicians want to kill that guy.
