Do you believe early voting will help one man win the election over the other?

I'm asking this question before I make my way to the voting booths today, as long as Hurricane Sandy has not taken them over.

I have been listening to the radio and watching the news about how important it is for African Americans to get out there and vote early because of all the problems they may face on Election Day.  And then I begin to think, when there is a black president why is this an issue?  Even for his first term - there was so much controversy in Florida, etc. and he still won.  Why can't we as a people simply embrace the person who wins - Black, White or whatever?

For most of us, it's not about his skin color, Renee. It's about his policies and what he stands for, neither of which do I agree with. I'll never embrace what Obama stands for as I firmly believe it's anti-American.

I voted yesterday. I voted for Romney, the next president of the United States.

      Longhunter,
Thanks for the comment.  Glad you rocked the vote.  I always pray whoever is in office is working for us.

I did the same for Obama when he began. I hope future black candidates aren't compared to him simply due to skin color. We have a lot of potentially great leaders in this country who just happen to be black.

I have heard that the number support Democrats when it comes to early voting but I don't know how accurate the numbers really are.

Voting early shouldn't really affect either side.  I have had my absentee ballot for a few weeks and got it filled out over the weekend.

Cases have been documented where certain minorities have had issues voting on the actual day so for those concerned about this take advantage of the early opportunity and vote.

The campaigns want you to vote early because once you do your vote is committed, and they needn't spend more resources on you. They are now using a scoring system that rates each voter with a number, somewhat like banks rate you with a credit score. That number indicates your individual leanings and likely vote. The pitches are tailored to your score. When you cast your vote early, the campaigns, who have people watching, mark you off the list and concentrate on those who haven't. It saves them money and time. Both the major parties are doing it, so it doesn't benefit one more than the other, but it does get you out of their hair. So to speak. That's why they keep trying to push you to do it.

Intimidation of minority voters at the polls is all but unheard of today, myth rather than reality. It's an argument a party will use to motivate you to commit your vote now, though, even if it isn't a true one. They want you to enter that vote, right now, and they'll tell you anything that may get you to.
