Who are the HAPPIEST people in life: Liberals or Conservatives? Why? Why not?
As opinion I think without know what is meant with Happiest they both are. To me happiness is a state of mind related to acceptance. The other thing when at the nitty-gritty of stuff everyone is both a liberal and a conservative. I am conservative with business and more liberal with social.
I wear a business suit, but everyday wear shorts, a T-shirt, sandals, and weird straw hat casually. I have gone that way to functions where my business counterparts wore the long pants, a button shirt, and shoes. Seen is a difference between conservative and liberal view points.
Those counterparts frowned with my attire and could be said 'more' conservative than me. But, they knew my stance regarding the business we worked at with policy, approach to business, and strategy for profit. They in fact may have been unhappy with me considering how they managed their territory or stores compared to my conservative corporate stance. Their approach may counter like allowing their store employees to have their shirts not tucked in while working on cars. To me that is a liberal stance.
According to various polls like Pew Research Center, the National Science Foundation, Professor Arthur Brooks' Gross National Happiness, conservative Americans are happier than liberal Americans.
Why are conservatives in general happier?
In general, conservatives. Liberals tend to blame society as a whole for everything and anything in particular, and then are constantly angry at the whole world. Conservatives see that the world will mostly stay the same except through incremental change, and while they may work on incremental changes for society, they know they have personal responsibility and freedom to do what they want and change their own outlook and coping mechanisms.
And the liberal view that society is against X group, that anyone with contrary views hates you and many people have different opinions, that society is holding X back - makes you angry and unhappy all the time, ready to be an activist for liberal causes on demand but totally ruins your happiness.
I don't think there is a factual answer to this. It is all opinion and interpretation.
I'm a liberal leaning libertarian. ALL of my neighbors are lower income conservatives. We are the only home on the block without constant drama. The only house that doesn't have an ambulance pulling up a couple times a week to it.
Yet the majority of my associates are either anarchist, libertarians, or liberals and they all seem pretty happy with their lives. They all have good jobs. Some are veterans, some are stay at home homeschooling mamas, while some are the average working middle class. My associates are usually up beat people who attend local fund raisers, get togethers, and often set up outings for our group.
However, if I had to make an educated guess, I'd say conservatives as a whole are probably happier here in the USA for one reason only. Low income people are more apt to be less happy and considering the amount of poverty among minorities (which are not always, but usually liberal) I would assume there is more unhappiness among them. Yet my neighbors are mostly miserable poor white people and they are all conservative.
So again, it's all opinion, interpretation, and speculation.

My unbiased description is this: liberals turn to government to solve their problems. Conservatives turn to business to solve their problems.

Commonly, those people who call themselves conservative hold socialism and communism as being the end-state of liberalism. I would argue that there is nothing "liberal" about socialism and communism. Think about it, the fundamental engine behind both is the need for the...
