Every country has them including ours. Nationalistic demagoguery. The incredulousness of intolerant supremacists' rallying cry of freedom of speech for inciting hate and violence is almost comical in its twisted pretzel logic.
One example for the US is the Mccarthy era. I'm sure people can cite contemporary examples in their own countries. Google news for Xenophobic Politics and it pops up Canada, Australia and Germany.
