   What is this "Neighborhood Aunty" stuff that the Indians are so obsessed with?
   
   Is it like the Brit term, popularized in the U.S. by Austin Powers (Mike Meyers), about the girl that is like a neighborhood bicycle -- everyone has had a ride?  What IS an "aunty"?

   ha ha ha! You are really funny
   well, here in india, people are kind of sex starved. (I am only talking about rural india). They never get to know what exactly is a women's body, and how kids are born. So, they start fantasizing about anyone, which resembles girls and women. Now, the easiest access to such fantasy is, of-course, the neighborhood ladies, whom they can see and observe daily. So, if you post a hub regarding neighborhood aunties, it is sure that it will be a big hit among the aimless guys sitting infront of the computer, doing nothing but scanning pictures all over the internet.
   PS: A neighborhood aunty is a middle aged lady, who is residing near to your home, and the one who comes to the fantasy of a young lad.

   neighbourhood aunties are the biggest gossipmongers in India. they consider it their holy duty to know everything about everybody and very dutifully transmit their knowledge to all other aunties at a speed, that would put even the internet to shame!
   these aunties are usually married, plump, matronly, very portly and usually they are homemakers in the age group of 40-50 years who have nothing to do in the lazy afternoons and so, spend time, gossiping and bitching about everybody who catches her attention. it is really surprising to see how much she knows about you and what you are up to, how many boyfriends/girlfriends you have had, who you are dating and so on and so forth!!!
   and if you are a girl, she will always be complaining about your Anglicised lifestyle, about the length of your outfits (they are all too short, too revealing in her disapproving eyes) etc etc.
   so you get the hang, i guess. and she is the first person to get to know any scoop or scandal in your neighbourhood and the 1st person to break the 'breaking news' to the 'world'!
   in short, she can put even the shrewd page 3 journos to shame. after all she is your neighbourhood BBC!
