Do you believe the news media is biased?
The news media includes print, radio, television etc...
Please disregard opinion talk shows on radio and tv.
I believe all media has a bias. It has to as no one is ever completely objective especially where there is something at stake in which they care.
While news media should stick to the facts, it is practically impossible for someone not to insert commentary even if its nonverbal in their expressions, actions and posture in the case of television.
If there is a truly non-biased news media outlet I have yet to see one, and by the way, most people feel the media is slanted toward the left, however I freelance for a newspaper that is run by more conservative folks and they are STILL accused of slanting to the left.
I hope this answers your question in an objective manner
I agree with Davidwpa in his opinion that all expression reflects the bias of the originator; regardless of the training we got as journalists (or clergy, or whatever!) our perceptions are always the starting point. I am a Scottish nationalist, and I know that there will always be "establishment" bias in the media - they will always treat my opinions on the basis of their knowledge of my "drift." Once we honestly acknowledge that there is bias in everything we cannot be active censors, since suppression would give other views an unfair advantage. I'm the author of RUNNING A MESSAGE PARLOR, a memoir written way back in 1976, which reported on ideological and theological persecution that I suffered in America after giving readings of Burns' poetry (figure that out - I got run out of town in Roswell, New Mexico!); you can pick up an o.p. copy for less than $5 on Amazon. I've just published RETIRED TERRORIST (at www.trafford.com) which reports on some of my Scottish misadventures and then asks about the validity of considering protesters to be terrorists. Bias makes the world go round!
Any couch potato can see that. Just cruse stations and see how they report events and which ones they choose to report. Stations choose to report on events that further their agendas and then spin it to fit their ideals. You want to know why Fox is so popular? It is the only right-leaning news organization, and most of America is right of center. The rest have gone far left, so their viewers left, except for the ones who don't have a clue.

The fallacy in getting 'fair and balanced reporting' is inherent within how the news organizations prosper and grow. They are in the business of making money, they sell an audience to their advertisers. it is ever so hard to attract the public's attention. Look where the traffic is! It is in social...

I lived through the fear of nuclear war between the old Soviet Union and America. I remember practicing what to do in elementary school in case of an attack. I remember the television commercials advertising bomb shelters. I remember the Missile Crisis. And now, Vladimir Putin...

THE US government secretly advised Scottish ministers it would be "far preferable" to free the Lockerbie bomber than jail him in Libya. How come I had to read an Australian Newspaper to hear about this ?The document, acquired by a well-placed US source, threatens to undermine US President...

Because the mainstream media is so slanted , biased and self- brainwashed as to believe it can psychologically alter the American mind to its own ideological agenda ! Hey ! That's one way to discipline the media , they have been so brilliant as...

Is the mainstream media in cahoots with the government or is this some distorted conspiracy myth? Some blogs debate that the mainstream is mainly PR for both the government and big corporations. Do you think that CNN, for example, reports the truth 100% or only the part of the story they want...

The point. Personally I do not watch the news I just listen to other people and look to my friends online for the facts. Well the facts are American media is run by the world mob and they are attempting to create a rift between the citizen and the police. So the media is all about how a cop killed...
