Why is it easier to get away with murdering someone than possessing a gun for self-defense?
Killers average about 10 years in prison...whereas someone possessing a firearm that hasn't been used gets 25. What is wrong with out justice system?!
I'm not sure that is accurate information. I would have to see the statistics you are speaking of.
The reason is that the politicians and bureaucrats want you to be dependent on them, and look to them for their ineffective "protection" instead of you being primarily responsible for your own protection.
A subject killing someone is just a subject killing another. That is really no big deal to your rulers (though they do work to an extent to solve those cases, to appease the public). Possessing a gun is a challenge to your rulers. They cannot abide that.
