In many ways, folks may look back and decide that it was General George S. Patton who lead his armored divisions with such a broad range of emotions that he inspired his people to believe they could do anything. He believed that you gave people an objective and then you got out of the way and watched to see them achieve it. As tough as he was, he was respected, feared, and loved by those who served under him. WWII would have been a much longer war with a lot more death and suffering if not for George Patton's resolve and fortitude. His belief in himself and his people was contagious and he did not give one tinker's damn whether anybody liked it or not...he was not playing to the grandstand. WB
