What do you think of Julia Guillard's grab for power in Australia

Do you think it was political assassination as the leader of the opposition Tony Abbot stated in parliment?

Julia Gillard is the first female prime minister, has been in politics for quit some time. Can be good who knows, time will tell as with all politicians.

It's a change and my Australian friends seem to think that this change may be for the better.  Irrespective, this can happen in any country in politics - nothing very new.  At the very least it was done without any form of 'violence', as what happened  in some 3rd world countries.

The outgoing PM Rudd said that he was elected by the people. That was BS because here is not like America. We do not vote for our PM, only the party, and the party decides their leader.
Julia Gillard did not need to be voted as PM - only have the party support to overthrow him.
Overall, it was a good move. If Peter Costello had the guts to do it before the last election, Rudd's party would never have been elected.
Julia will be a breath of fresh air after the crap from Rudd. She may even save the labor party from defeat at the next election, because Rudd could not save them.
It is a really interesting and historic time for Australian Politics.
