How do you think people will react, believers or not, as the theoretical end of the world draws...
near? - Several therories state that 2012 is the final year of life on this planet - do you think people will act differently as the date approaches. Will there be a run on supplies, religious fanatics on the streets, etc.?
There have been more ends of the world than one can count. We are still here! Most people will go about business as usual. Though earth changes are in effect, they have been going on for decades, even more than a century. Doubtless there will be fanatics as usual proclaiming the end, but 2012 will come and go. Incidentally, astronomy says the so called end of the long count is 2010 and we are still here. I believe that the Maya were expert astronomical observers and relied on real events. One occurred last Dec. 21st, 2010 in an important Maya position. Our counting has been out and now we can correct it. Real disasters will continue to inspire a run on supplies such as pre and post Katrina.
i can see many people changing. some will get all religious, others will think it's ok to steal and hord while others will prepare hideouts. not everyone will change but i know if i notice dramatic changes in people i will do whatever is needed to protect my family. i don't believe that anything will happen but humans can cause a lot of problems when they are scared and were better off safe then sorry.
