Do you feel that America has an unacceptable attitude about wasting food?

There is this church near my home that host summer camps for kids.  Think about our social media where food is taken for granted.  How about when parents don't hold their kids accountable for not finishing whats on their plate?  Such as licking the icing off of a cupcake and throwing away the cake.  Do you feel the culture of being over weight in America leads to these attitudes towards food?

No doubt, we probably waste more food than some countries have to eat.  I don't see that being a long term thing.  Eventually China with its industrialization will see its ability to produce food for the masses reduced.  They will then go on the world market to feed their people and the competition for food staples will follow much the same path as energy has with a bidding up of the price. More and more of our agricultural production will go into export and America will be competing for its own food staples.  This fact tied with the high energy expense of food transportation will make food a rather expense part of our lives. For others in the world, things may get even worse. WB
