What would be the first action you take, if you became The President today?
What actions or "changes" will you make within the US economy as it stands today? How will your actions, in turn, affect the economy and the citizens of the United States of America?
The first thing I would do, is to withdraw every troop outside of our country. Every soldier at outposts and bases. Every war we are currently involved in would be stopped, and all of our soldiers would be brought home. Then I would institute a Non-Interventionist foreign policy, that would basically state that we refuse to participate in any wars that do not directly happen on our soil. Defense only, no offense.
By doing this, the DHS would be abolished as would many other parts of the military budget. This would help the economy by not wasting trillions of dollars and it would save the lives of many soldiers who do not need to be fighting wars now.
It would also provide for more entrepreneurs, laborers, inventors, business owners and others to add to our society. The unemployment rate would rise for a short time, as many soldiers would realize they don't need to be employed by the military, but then they would go out and become a part of the workforce again.
Usry on money is a scam. Inflation and deflation are also scams.
Tha amount of the national debt is a scam as well ,because of usery.
Lobbying would be outlawed, day one! I had heard about it all my life but I had no idea until a few years ago that bribery is legal. Kind of fits with everything else illegal that will cause our downfall and not long in coming I am sure.
I would ask Congress to rescind Obamacare and I would then ask both houses of Congress to go back to work on getting Medicare and Social Security solvent for the future. WB
If i became president (we can all dream) I would:
(a) Stop all investment in defense and the arms industry. Current research shows that US defense capabilities is way ahead of the most developed countries. That's good enough for me, besides if my country is the BEST in world why would someone want to attack it, we only get treated as we treat others.
(b) Redistribute the money from the defense cuts to all those people who are less fortunate in society.
(c) Increase tax on all people earning above $100k to 50%.
(d) Reduce tax burden on everyone earning below $35k
(e) new tax on all millionaires, to pay 2.5% tax on all their wealth every year (bit like the Islamic Zakat)
(f) Free medical services for everyone - non that bull-***t medical insurance scams.
(g) Reduce earnings for all politicians and introduce more accountability.
(h) stop all illegal wars, saving the US tax pay billions of wasted money.
That's enough for my election pledge - so now who is going to vote for me? do that by voting more points for me!
Privatize education, including a reduction in taxes so that parents could choose the schools they want for their children. If education followed the capitalism model, with plenty of competition, the quality of education would rise while the costs fell.

Do American citizens give up their civil rights when they join the military? My husband told me that when he joined the military, they told him he was the property of the United States. That got me to wondering if that meant he lost his civil rights while he was serving in the military.
