Is the following the correct oath of office for the President of the United States?
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully exectute the Office of the President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Yes, this is what is specified in Article II, section 1 of the Constitution. Also, George Washington set the precedent of saying 'so help me God' at the end of the oath. This is confirmed by historical record. See, for example, http://inaugural.senate.gov/history/fac … /index.cfm
