What are some solutions we could offer the Texas courts in lieu of prison for young offenders?
What can be done to stop courts from throwing young offenders with substance abuse issues into Texas prisons? This situation is reaching crisis level and we need to get it stopped!! Help hubbers!!
if the crimes committed were non-violent, first time events, i would suggest probation and community service involving repair and clean-up in storm damaged areas. if there is none of that work available, mandatory work with habitat for humanity or a similar organization.
Well in order to actually go to prison the crime must be pretty serious, otherwise they go to the county jail and then are released. Prison is for serious crimes and having a drug problem has no bearing on the criminal's guilt or innocence.
